Qualification in Siscomex (Radar)

To operate with import and export, the company or the taxpayer needs to register in the Integrated Foreign Trade System (SISCOMEX). This registration can be done directly by the company/taxpayer or with the advice of a specialized trading, because, before requesting the qualification, one must be aware of the Normative Instructions of the Federal Revenue Service and all the rules that legislate on this registration.

Once the registration is made, if the radar is rejected, the company or the taxpayer can only request the qualification again after 6 months from the date of registration of the protocol. Therefore, any error in the application process may result in an actual loss, as the company or the taxpayer will be unable to carry out the operations for a period of 6 months.

When enabling SISCOMEX, it is necessary to be aware that there are two types of modalities: individual and legal entity.

The type of legal entity is subdivided into three types:

Express Qualification – has as a limit, to carry out import operations with exchange coverage, the value of up to USD 50,000.00, in each consecutive period of six months (CIF import value); and export, without limits;

Limited Qualification – has as a limit, to carry out import operations with exchange coverage, the value of up to USD 150,000.00, in each consecutive period of six months (CIF import value); and export, without limits;

Unlimited qualification – It has the ability to carry out import operations, with exchange coverage above the value of USD 150,000.00, in each consecutive period of six months (CIF import value); and export, without limits.

The modality of individual has no subdivision and the capacity is determined by income tax.
